Chemical Peel
The sun along the coast is intense. For folks who reside here, you know first-hand the toll that it can take on your skin. A chemical peel is one of the most efficient ways to correct these issues in a non-invasive way and without having a lot of down time. At Jolie Visage, we offer several different strengths of chemical peels and will choose the one that is appropriate for your skin. Not to choose a peel from a menu.

The Perfect Derma Peel is a very popular choice among those wanting real results. It is not over-the-counter; it is a medical grade treatment peel.
Here in Murrells Inlet, we are accustomed to seeing accumulated sun exposure over the years, which is apparent in the texture of the skin, lack of clarity, and uneven tone that can only be treated by a peel. The fresh, healthy skin that follows a peel makes it an amazing, life changing experience for many people. The number one surprise to most clients is the effectiveness of a single peel. And the second greatest surprise is how easily the experience is handled. [LINK PLACEHOLDER]
Anti-Aging Treatments
Wrinkles and fine lines do not simply disappear, no matter how much we may wish that they would.

We will not offer you a magic treatment. We will, however, sit down and have a conversation about the aging that has taken place on your face and discuss which options will be the best for you. For example, many clients in the Murrells Inlet area have been squinting for years at the beautiful water views, so crow's feet are evident, or those who have lived in coastal South Carolina for decades will see signs of aging related to the intense Southern sun. In either case, they are real issues and real treatments are available.
We will assess your skin to determine the best course for you. We don't want to just throw every treatment we have at you in an attempt to fix any perceived issues. We want you to look and feel your best. We want to see you leave the clinic and get told by your friends, "You look so well-rested, but I just can't put my finger on why." [LINK PLACEHOLDER]
Pigmentation Treatment
The number one skin complaint that we here at Jolie Visage hear from clients in the Murrells Inlet region is pigmentation. If you are spending much of your time on the MarshWalk, out on the water or on land errands at the Grand Strand, it can be challenging to limit your exposure to the sun.

When you add all that time outside in the sun, it can lead to dark patches on your skin. Things such as sun spots, age spots, sun spots, age spots or melasma (hyperpigmentation). They are more than just skin deep and cannot be treated successfully with a product you'd find at the grocery store.
There are many effective ways to treat these concerns such as the use of clinical strength peels that use acids such as glycolic, lactic, or mandelic which target the melanin causing the problem. With this type of peel, results happen over time. We treat in a series with time between sessions to build and maintain improvement. This is not meant to give a full treatment in one visit or even the first session, but the difference is steady and consistent with each visit. Your esthetician will assess your skin and determine which peel will work best in your case. (Melasma is one to handle delicately; too aggressive a pace and you could end up making the problem worse from sun exposure.)
Microdermabrasion is another good treatment. It sands away dead, surface skin cells, exposing the fresher skin underneath. No recovery time is involved: you can schedule an appointment and still make it to lunch on the Inlet afterward. In fact, many of our local clients from Garden City and Pawleys Island schedule microdermabrasion appointments to be followed with a prescribed home care regimen that produces more efficient and consistent improvements between treatments.
If you're dealing with more persistent, deeper pigmentation, IPL is a good option. IPL uses light therapy to target areas of concentrated pigment so your body can flush them out. In fact, IPL, with LED, has the ability to improve melasma specifically. It also speeds recovery of the skin and reduces inflammation.
Between appointments, medical-grade treatments like vitamin C, niacinamide, kojic acid and/or retinoids used in professional-strength formulas slow production of melanin and accelerate cell turnover rates. We often recommend medical-grade treatments that deliver concentrations of these ingredients that far exceed what you'd find in your local drugstore.
Above all else, we can't stress enough the importance of daily, year-round sun protection during a pigment correction regimen. Every day, use a broad-spectrum SPF 30 or above. We recommend mineral-based sunscreens that contain zinc oxide, as they are less irritating to treated skin, in combination with a wide-brimmed hat for maximum protection. Skipping this step nullifies all your efforts. [LINK PLACEHOLDER]

Hydrating Facial
Salt air, strong UV rays and air conditioning are a recipe for dry, aging skin. One of our most-requested esthetics services is the hydrating facial, as it targets exactly these issues that plague local clients every day.

First, an esthetician does a detailed analysis of your skin. Someone who spends their weekends kayaking in the marshes near Huntington Beach State Park will have different needs than someone working in a climate-controlled office in Myrtle Beach.
A thorough double cleanse is followed by mild exfoliation with an enzyme or lactic acid formulation, to gently remove dead cells from the surface. You need this layer gone before your next skincare step can penetrate: a cocktail of intense moisturizers in concentrated serums to hydrate the deep layers of the epidermis, typically using hyaluronic acid, glycerin, squalane and/or vitamin B5. And, of course, some of these ingredients come straight from a marine environment, which means they're available only in professional treatments, not off-the-shelf products.
The hydrating facial also typically includes a moisturizing mask. The treatment usually ends with a relaxing facial massage, which not only feels wonderful and puts most patients in a trance, as in our experience, we take their sleep as the ultimate compliment, but helps the ingredients absorb deeper and reduces inflammation and puffiness, too.
When exposed to harsh elements like the salty air, a hydrating facial can rebuild the moisture barrier in your skin, which is the key to the health of your skin, preventing damage by moisture loss from the surface that can lead to aging. We use ingredients like ceramides, fatty acids and occlusives to your skin has plenty of moisture long after the procedure ends.
For Litchfield Beach and Garden City residents, an appointment every 4-6 weeks is ideal, or more frequently during the summer months if you plan on spending lots of time outdoors. [LINK PLACEHOLDER]
Extraction Facial
Murrells Inlet humidity clogs pores. Fast. That's particularly true from May through September when the humidity feels like a wet towel on your skin.
Clogged pores require physical, hands-on cleaning. This facial ensures buildup is properly cleared for your skin to breathe. Our esthetician will safely remove blackheads and other trapped matter without harming or tearing your skin as can happen in the bathroom with your fingertips. You'll notice the pores look smaller after this one treatment. And the pores just feel cleaner and your skin has a cleaner feel that can't come from using only a face wash in the shower. Pore Cleansing Facial
Humidity along the Grand Strand clogs pores. Your daily cleanser doesn't do it in Murrells Inlet.
The pore cleansing facial goes much further. Steamed skin, high-quality professional products, and a skilled, gentle touch help get what's built up underneath out. The skin feels cleaner and looks a little better instantly. Come in before a special event or come on a regular basis to reset when your skin feels congested and dull. Either reason makes sense to get on a regular schedule. [LINK PLACEHOLDER]

Vitamin C Facial
The sun and salt water here can wear on the skin quickly. Vitamin C can help to fight the damaging results of these elements. Fast.
Vitamin C is one of the most researched antioxidants for skin. It brightens skin tone, removes dark spots, and contributes to collagen production. One treatment can show great results but a series of them brings noticeable changes. We use medical-grade concentrations that are not available at any big-box store. [LINK PLACEHOLDER]
Enzyme Facial
All skin doesn't need acids or heavy-duty exfoliation. Sometimes it needs a different approach, such as the enzyme facial.
The fruit-based enzymes gently remove dead skin without acids or harsh products. The skin is softer immediately after. This facial is often used for sensitive skin or skin that can't tolerate harsher peels. We treat many clients in Murrells Inlet who suffer from skin irritation or redness from the elements. The esthetician can also add other treatments depending on your needs for the day. [LINK PLACEHOLDER]
Men's Facial
More men in Murrells Inlet are getting professional skin care than ever. They should be.
Men's skin is thicker, tends to produce more oil, and has different issues. Issues like shaving irritation, ingrown hairs, and sun damage from golf or time on the boat. Men's facials clean deeper into the pores to remove all the buildup, reduce ingrown hairs, exfoliate and remove rough skin, and soothe sunburned or irritated areas. A regular facial will improve and clear up these skin issues. [LINK PLACEHOLDER]

Anti-aging Facial
Even for the youthful, anti-aging products and treatments can help preserve the health of the skin and slow down natural aging processes. Anti-aging facials can be customized to your skin's specific needs. For clients with sun damage and discoloration we may start with one of the chemical peel options mentioned above. We then move onto a facial customized with the highest-grade serums and oils to restore hydration and glow. It's never too late for anti-aging treatments.
A men's facial is all about the right products and technique to account for your skin type. No shame. No drama. It'll just make for better skin that you'll see the results with. [LINK PLACEHOLDER]
Hand Treatment
Your hands give away your age quicker than about any other area of your body. Plus in a place such as Murrells Inlet, where you spend your time outside in the water in the sun, they're taking far more damage than your face which at least gets sunscreen to protect it.
Hands receive the same sun damage as the skin on your face but often don't receive the same care. Hand treatments target sun damage as well as lost volume with a combination of exfoliation and hydration and with the application of targeted serums that restore skin softness and smoothness as well as even out discoloration. Small treatment, large return.
Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about esthetics service services in Murrells Inlet
Where is Jolie Visage located, and is parking easy to find?
We are located right here in Murrells Inlet, and parking is straightforward. When you book, we send you exact directions and parking details so you are not guessing on arrival. Plan to arrive a few minutes early so you can relax before your appointment. We want your visit to feel easy from the moment you pull in.
What should I expect during my first esthetics appointment?
Your first visit starts with a skin analysis before anything else. We look at what your skin actually needs, not what a menu says. Then we walk you through the best options for your goals. You will leave with a clear plan, not a pile of products you did not ask for. Most clients feel comfortable and informed by the end.
Does the Murrells Inlet coastal climate really affect my skin that much?
Yes, it absolutely does. Salt air breaks down your moisture barrier fast. UV exposure along the Grand Strand adds up year after year. Humidity clogs pores from May through September. These are real conditions that standard drugstore products cannot keep up with. Professional treatments are built to address exactly what this coastal environment does to your skin daily.
How do chemical peels help with sun damage from living near the water?
Chemical peels get underneath the surface damage that sunscreen alone cannot reverse. Years of coastal sun settle into your skin as uneven tone, rough texture, and dullness. A targeted peel addresses all three. Most clients are surprised at how much one session changes things. We choose your peel strength based on your skin, not a standard formula.
How often should I book facials if I spend a lot of time outdoors in Murrells Inlet?
Every four to six weeks is a solid starting point. If you are kayaking, fishing, or spending real time outside during peak summer, more frequent visits help your skin keep up. Clients near Garden City and Litchfield Beach often come in more regularly during summer months. Your esthetician will give you a honest recommendation based on your lifestyle.
Can pigmentation and sunspots actually be treated, or do they just come back?
They can be treated, and results are real and lasting when you follow the plan. Clinical peels, microdermabrasion, and IPL therapy all target pigment at the source. The key is consistent SPF 30 or higher every morning, especially in the Grand Strand sun. Skip sun protection and you undo the work. Stick with it and the fading holds.
